Wellcare Certification Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

To transfer over your AHIP to Wellcare, you will need your NPN number and password.

Steps to start you your certification

  • Go to https://wellcare.csod.com/client/wellcare/default.aspx 
  • Enter the username indicated within your welcome email.
    • First time users: initial password will be Master1 and will prompt users to create a permanent  password.
    • Returning users: utilize the password you have previously created for WellCare U
  • Once logged in, hover over the Learning tab at the top and click View your Transcript.
  • Select Active from the first drop down menu, and find the course. Please note all ACT courses will be displayed on your active transcript.
  • Click the Launch button to the right of the course, and once the course is completed it will move to your completed transcripts under Complete within the first drop down menu. Please note the curriculum consists of several courses listed on the welcome email and a mastery exam.

As a reminder, AHIP released their 2019 Medicare Advantage and fraud, waste and abuse training, and the 2019 version will suffice to market/sell both 2018 and 2019 WellCare products. WellCare offers a $50 discount if completed via the WellCare/AHIP co-branded link:

2019 ACT and AHIP must be completed by 9/30 in order to avoid suspension from marketing/selling both 2018 and 2019 WellCare products. Agents who do not complete all requirements prior to the deadline will remain in a suspended status until the requirements are met. Note: The transfer of completed AHIP to your WellCare University transcript can take up to 48 hours.

Note: WellCare will not reimburse money paid towards training. After all certification requirements are successfully completed, you will receive an email indicating you are certified to market/sell 2019 WellCare products.

Applications & Submission:

There are three ways to submit applications with Wellcare: Paper, P-URL, and Agent Assisted Enrollment (E-app).

  1. Paper Application
    1. Fill out the paper SOA or call the AVL and obtain the appointment ID: (Important Numbers)
    2. The AVL call takes only a few minutes, you shouldn’t get put on hold
    3. They will ask for the agents: Name, to spell it back, address, phone, if this is for an immediate or future date, MA or PDP, agent number, future date and time, Appoint ID number is given
      1. Obtain that appointment number as your scope
      2. Fill out the paper application
      3. Return the completed and signed form in one of the following ways:
        1. Paper Application Fax:

  2. Online-face to face
    1. Collect the SOA mobile app (additional certifications required- see below) or call into WellCare as a 3 way call with client to obtain the appointment ID using the AVL line: (Important Numbers)
      1. This call takes only a few minutes, you shouldn’t get put on hold
      2. They will ask for the agents: Name, to spell it back, address, phone, if this is for an immediate or future date, MA or PDP, agent number, future date and time, Appoint ID number is given
      3. Obtain that appointment ID as your SOA
      4. Fill out application online using the online enrollment: https://portal.wellcare.com/agentassistedapp
  3. URL- Personal URL (PURL)- can’t be done face to face!

    2. Send link to client for them to fill out on their own

Scope of Appointment Information:

  • Appointment Verification Line (AVL): telephonic scope
    • Each AVL number varies by state and product, click here for a list of these numbers.
    • Provides appointment ID, this will go on the enrollment application
  • Mobile Scope of Appointment Application
    • Compatible for iOS/Android users
    • Must complete additional certification training in Wellcare University (On WellCare U homepage, in the search field type in SM Mobile Scope of Appointment App and then request the training to be loaded to your transcript)
    • Provides appointment ID, this will go on the enrollment application
