Another Time to Sign Up for Medicare
Your clients might be able to sign up for Medicare during a Special Enrollment Period if they missed their enrollment period because of certain exceptional circumstances.
New Start Dates for Your Client’s Medicare Coverage
Beginning January 1, 2023, when your client signs up for Medicare the month they turn 65 or during the last 3 months of their Initial Enrollment Period, or during the General Enrollment Period, their coverage starts the first day of the month after they sign up.
Kidney Transplants & Immunosuppressive Drug Coverage
Medicare will offer a new benefit that helps continue to pay for immunosuppressive drugs beyond 36 months after a kidney transplant (if your client doesn’t have other health coverage).

An Accountable Care Organization is a group of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers that work as a team to give your client high-quality, coordinated health care. If your client has limited income, they may be able to get help from their state to pay their Medicare costs through resources like Extra Help or a Medicare Savings Program.
