- Cigna Medicare Supplement is still having a lot of processing issues (as of January 17th, 2025). A very common one is that an application will be pending for a license review. They are working on figuring out what is causing applications to get flagged when it is not the agent’s first application in that state.
- PDP has had some issues with enrollments not being found.
- If you are missing any clients, please send over a list with the following information so we can help get those pushed through;

Industry Reminders
- OEP runs from January 1 until the end of March. You CANNOT market this election.
- Now that we are in 2025, remember that the quarterly “maintaining LIS” SEP does not exist anymore.
- Under 65 Medicare Supplements are now available in Indiana, effective December 12th, 2024. Please check carrier comp amounts for this. UHC will not be paying any commissions on these bonuses.
- Effective January 1, 2025, the State of California will become a Part A Buy-In state. This means that individuals who are not automatically eligible for Medicare Part A can receive assistance for Medicare Part A premiums through Medi-Cal under Senate Bill (SB) 311.
- Beginning April 1, 2025, individuals wishing to utilize the Disaster/Emergency SEP must call 1-800-MEDICARE in order to make an election. Medicare Advantage Organizations and Part D Sponsors will no longer accept elections directly from beneficiaries using the Disaster/Emergency SEP. Plans will receive Disaster/Emergency SEP elections only via download from the Health Plan Management System (HPMS) Online Enrollment Center Management module.
- Missouri has a statewide FEMA SEP ongoing. If you have any individuals who missed their AEP election, you can still enroll them for now. In order to use this, the client must have had a valid election that they did not use (in this case, AEP).
- Service Area Reduction SEP is still in play!
- FEMA Disaster SEP becomes CMS direct-call only, beginning on April 1, 2025.
- Changes to DSNP Election in 2025
- President Trump signed a number of Executive Orders (EO) on his first day in office. Of note was an order rescinding Biden’s EO 14087, affecting certain drug pricing experiments (such as proposed $2 generic drug list). This does NOT change aspects of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) that are already enforced.
