What to Expect During the CMS Blackout Period From November 8-14
The annual CMS “blackout period” will occur between November 8-14. During this period, CMS makes necessary updates to their systems and temporarily stops processing enrollments. This processing delay affects all carriers, but there will be no impact to your submitted enrollments. CMS will resume processing enrollments in the order in which they are received, starting on or about November 14.
Here’s What You Need to Know
- There will be a processing delay for enrollments you submit from November 8-14
- These enrollments will appear on the Pending Application report in Producer World until they are processes by CMS. Once enrollments are processed, which will take longer than usual- they will appear on the Medicare Book of Business report in Producer World.
- CMS will resume processing enrollments, in the order received, starting on or about November 14. This may take several days to complete.
